Your 2024 year in review is here! This post gives you a quick overview of what went on this year, and what to expect in 2025.
What does it mean to have pride in homeownership?
Halifax Pride is nearly upon us once again! This is a super fun time of the year, and it’s by far the time when the LGBTQ+ community gets the most recognition. However, pride should extend beyond this festival. It’s essential to bring pride into all aspects of your life, and that includes having pride in homeownership!
What we’re looking forward to this year
Halifax Pride runs from July 20th to 30th this year, and we’re excited to welcome Pride back to our city! This is always a great time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and all of their contributions to our wonderful town, while also acknowledging what can still be done to improve pride in Halifax. We’re looking forward to the usual roundup of events, performances, and workshops, not to mention the famous parade! Pride is one of the most entertaining and educating festivals around, and we’re always thrilled to experience it here in Halifax.
The full calendar of events has not been released yet, but when it is you will be able to find it here!
Halifax pride and homeownership
Of course, pride goes beyond a 10 day festival. It’s important to feel pride in all aspects of your life, even including homeownership. Why does this matter? Everyone deserves to feel a sense of belonging in their neighbourhood, and feel like they are welcome in their home. You want to enjoy homeownership, and a big part of that is loving where you live and who you’re near! We believe Halifax is an amazing and progressive city, but people in the LGBTQ+ still face discrimination. Before buying a home, it’s important to take some time to research different areas and neighbourhoods in the city. Visit those spots and see how they make you feel. Could you imagine living there? Listen to your heart!
Take pride in your mortgage team!
Obviously, you also need to consider your housing needs in terms of the property itself. Size, location, amenities, and transit might all be important factors for you. That’s where we come in! Just like you want your future neighbourhood to give you a sense of belonging, you should also feel welcomed by the mortgage professionals you work with. We’re dedicated to bringing pride into our lives and making all of our clients feel at home. For us, pride is more than a summer celebration. It’s a commitment we make year-round. You will work closely with mortgage professionals during your buying journey, so you want to make sure you can form a good relationship. The people you work with can have a big impact on your experience!
While Halifax Pride comes and goes every year, it’s a permanent fixture for our mortgage team. We work hard to extend our clients’ feelings of pride, and help them find the home where they will be most happy. We are proud of our city and our work, and we can’t wait to share it with you!
