What we look for in mortgage professionals
A job with Clinton Wilkins Mortgage Team
Here at the Clinton Wilkins Mortgage Team, we are always looking for new individuals. Those who are full of talent to train, coach and grow within the mortgage industry. If you have ever thought about becoming a mortgage professional here are some key abilities we look for this job.
Self starter
In the business of being a mortgage professional, you need to be a motivated self-starter to create your success. When you become a mortgage professional it is a commission based career; if you aren’t working with clients and assisting in mortgages, you won’t be making any money! This is definitely not a typical Monday to Friday job. New agents spend their time mostly networking with referral partners or attending events. As a result, this helps drive potential clients to use your services.
Gift for the gab
When it comes to starting out in the industry it involves speaking to new individuals daily. When you become a mortgage professional, a large portion of the job involves relationship building. This could be in the way of clients, realtors, mortgage lender or other industry partners. This by no means means you need to be a public speaker. Though, you should be able to easily have a conversation with anyone.
Organized
Depending on the type of mortgage transaction, there can be substantial documentation required and timelines to be met which can make or break a transaction. When you are assisting clients in a purchase, for example, there can be many immediate deadlines to meet, such as subject removal (time frame in which conditions need to be removed from a Purchase and Sale Agreement for a purchase to be firm). If not all conditions are met within this timeline (can range from 2 days to 2 weeks) the clients offer on the home could fall through, allowing other home buyers to swoop in and purchase the home instead.
Financially smart
Mortgage professionals’ main function is to assist clients with the biggest financial decision of their life, and it’s not taken lightly. With being a licensed broker, clients rely on your training and knowledge to ensure they have the best mortgage. Our dedicated to assisting clients to become debt free, mortgage free, or grow their property portfolio is above all else. Each client’s needs and financial situation are unique, and there are many times you as a mortgage professional need to be creative. Therefore, you can find solutions which place the client on the right track for their homeownership goals.
If you have a passion for helping people achieve their goals and dreams, this might be the career you have been looking for. Here at the Clinton Wilkins Mortgage Team, we aren’t always actively recruiting, but our door is always open to hiring the right individual for the job.
With Love, Clinton
